Anglers, boaters and lake enthusiasts all recognize Lake Blackshear as a little bit of paradise. This 8,700-acre lake is well stocked with bass, bream, crappie and catfish on a classic Southern impoundment, complete with cypress flats, flooded timber and all the hidden coves and secret fishing holes that make the experience one of a kind. With its miles of shoreline surrounded by wooded areas, the lake was created in 1930 by the damming of the Flint River. Designed to provide low-cost power to the citizens of Crisp County, today Lake Blackshear is also a magnificent recreational spot, perfect as a back drop for all of your family fun.
Launching your boat is quick and easy, as Lake Blackshear has its own Marina with a large ramp and free parking- including free overnight parking for your boat. No boat, no problem! The Marina offers a full array of rental boats including: pontoon boats that can accommodate up to 12 guests and two person kayaks, as well as the 50 passenger touring vessel, Liberty Lady .
Best of all, the Marina is a favorite gathering place to share those stories of ‘the one that got away.’ After a day of fishing relax at the Cypress Grill for casual dockside dining, or Eighty Eights for a beer, wine or cocktail.
The Marina is open Tuesday- Thursday 12p-6p, Friday 10a-8p, Saturday 8a-8p, and Sunday 8a-6p.

The marina is right on site and you can rent boats! We enjoyed renting a pontoon boat and cruising around the lake for a few hours!
The Marina is within walking distance to the Lodge and Villas and is a very short ride from cabins and camping.
We thoroughly enjoyed our two hour boat rental, which let us explore much of the beautiful lake.
